Meet the Inventor
Both products in this kit were invented by Wayne Draper – an electrical engineer and assessor who spent years identifying a better way to test without the need to disconnect conductors from boards.
Wayne explains: “I’ve assessed a lot of people on Inspection & Testing qualifications and always felt there had to be a better way of linking R1+R2 without disconnecting the conductors from the board in any way. I also wanted to reduce the amount of damage on test rigs and examination boards.”
Having already brought the R1R2 Link to market with Super Rod, Wayne returned to develop the IR Link – a natural next step driven by the growing industry challenge of testing circuits with sensitive equipment. As RCBOs and AFDDs became more common and the 250V Line and Neutral to Earth test gained popularity, the need to remove conductors from carefully dressed boards was becoming an increasing frustration for electricians. The IR Link was the answer to that problem – a smarter, non-invasive solution built directly from contractor feedback.
What’s in the Kit?
SRR1R2 – R1R2 Link Lead: Smarter Continuity Testing
The SRR1R2 allows you to link R1+R2 at the consumer unit without disconnecting any conductors – making continuity testing less invasive and reducing the risk of damage, particularly on EICRs. The PZ screwdriver bit design increases contact surface area, guaranteeing no more than 0.01Ω of additional resistance. The magnet sits behind the bit, not at the tip, keeping it out of the circuit entirely for accurate, reliable results. SRIR – IR Link Lead: Insulation Resistance Testing Without the Hassle
The SRIR is a high-strength magnetic link for insulation resistance testing of Line and Neutral to Earth at 250V DC on RCBO protected circuits. Particularly those with sensitive equipment such as USB sockets and LED lighting. Connecting directly to the Line and Neutral screw terminals, the IR Link brings both into a single banana socket – one lead links Line and Neutral, the second connects to the earth bar, leaving both hands free to operate test equipment. No conductor removal, no dismantling of consumer units.
