A revolutionary product from Super Rod for testing Insulation Resistance

Would you like to speed up Insulation Resistance testing? Are you tired of the hassle of disconnecting conductors, especially on circuits with sensitive equipment? Let us introduce you to the new IR Link from Super Rod, a revolutionary tool designed to simplify your testing process and align with the latest BS7671 standards.

The latest guidance is:

IET Book – Guidance Note 3 – Inspection and Testing Chapter 2.6.7:

For Insulation Resistance testing BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 permits the test voltage applied to circuits following connection of equipment to be reduced to 250 V DC, provided that cables were tested at 500 V DC prior to connection. Following connection of equipment that might be damaged by, or influence, the test, a test at 250 V DC is to be applied between live conductors and the protective conductor connected to the earthing arrangement.

Created by Wayne Draper, the inventor behind the popular R1 R2 Magnetic Test Link for R1 + R2 (SRR1R2), the IR Link provides an alternative method to link line and neutral on any circuits protected by an RCBO or AFDD. It is ideal for applications with sensitive equipment—providing you with a faster, and more efficient way to get accurate results.

Wayne comments: “Following significant interest in the R1R2 Link, it was a natural progression to develop additional products to assist electricians when testing. Taking the conductors out of an RCBO to complete a 250 V Line and Neutral to Earth test has become an inconvenience for many as the test has gained popularity. It can be very frustrating for electricians removing conductors for Initial Verification after meticulously dressing consumer units during installation.”

The IR Link is a high strength magnetic link for Insulation Resistance testing of Line and Neutral to Earth at 250 V on RCBO protected circuits. With the IR Link, there is no need to remove conductors from RCBOs or risk damaging connections. This significantly reduces testing time, especially for Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).

Tested for your safety, the IR Link is CAT III rated and meets industry standards for quality and durability.

Add the IR Link to your toolkit today and experience the difference with this perfect solution for faster, and compliant testing.
